Cindy Owen
Nurse Practitioner
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) Nurse Practitioner (NP), Graduate Certificate in Health Leadership, Bachelor of Science Registered Nurse
Cindy is an endorsed Nurse Practitioner with a specialised focus in rural and remote emergency nursing, bringing nearly two decades of clinical experience to her practice since commencing her nursing career in 2006. Throughout this time, she has developed advanced clinical expertise in managing a broad spectrum of patient presentations across the lifespan—from newborns to older adults—within diverse and often resource-limited settings. This breadth of experience has strengthened her commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centred care regardless of geographic location.
Her professional development includes completion of a Graduate Certificate in Health Leadership, which has enhanced her capacity to lead teams, support service development, and advocate for improved healthcare delivery in rural and remote communities. Cindy is an active member of both the Australian College of Nurse Practitioners and the Australian Nursing Federation, maintaining a strong connection with professional standards, policy development, and ongoing education within the nursing profession.
She is particularly passionate about improving access to healthcare for rural and remote populations, recognising the unique challenges faced by patients who live far from major medical services. Her goal is to ensure that individuals and families can receive safe, effective, and compassionate care close to home, even when access to specialist services is limited.
Recently, she commenced practice with the Restorative Health Clinic after being inspired by the team’s commitment to holistic, patient-focused care for people living with chronic health conditions. She is proud to contribute to a multidisciplinary approach that values collaboration, continuity of care, and long-term health outcomes.
Outside of her professional life, she is a proud mother of two adult children who are the centre of her world. Their encouragement and support continue to motivate her dedication to compassionate, community-focused healthcare.
Cindy remains committed to lifelong learning, clinical excellence, and advocacy for equitable healthcare access for all Australians, particularly those in rural and remote communities.
